There's never enough storage space in the house.  Julie wanted a blanket chest in our bedroom to match our existing bedroom furniture.  I came up with this chest design that keeps the theme of our existing furniture.  The chest is constructed from birch plywood, mahogany, poplar, and cedar.  It was finished with gel stain with polyurethane/tung oil protective coating.

The carcass is made from birch plywood.

Custom trim molding made from mahogany.

Carcass dressed up with trim moldings.

Poplar feet installation.

Shaping up with feet installed.

First time being upright.

Corner view.

Feet details.

Completed chest placed at the end of the bed to sit on.

With the door opened to show limited cedar lining.

Another view to show the matching theme.

And other view...

...And another view.
